Retirement Roundup: December 2007

December 31st, 2007  |  Published in Retirement

With so many personal finance bloggers out there with valuable information, I think I’ll start posting a collection of links each month to retirement related posts I found particularly useful (and hopefully you will to!)

  • Five Cent Nickel reviews some solid year end money moves, one of which is to modify (hopefully increase!) your retirement contribution rates for 2008. Or, if you don’t do that, hopefully you get a raise so your contribution amount is higher.
  • Not surprisingly, teens don’t save for retirement and Jeremy at GenX Finance shares some of his thoughts on the matter. Honestly, I’m neither surprised nor shocked - you can skip saving a few burger flipping bucks for retirement, enjoy your youth.
  • Setting the right withdrawal rate is crucial in retirement, the difference of 1% can be extremely significant and JLP illustrates why.
  • I’ll leave you with one more retirement related post I found useful, it comes to us from The Dough Roller and involves how to establish a good asset allocation (and how now is a good time to clean that up).
