How To Evaluate A Retirement Home

October 16th, 2007  |  Published in Retirement

Smart Money ran a great article last month about the five things you need to look for in a retirement home. The most interesting part about the article is that they warn that you should focus not on the amenities (like a spa, a pool, the bells and whistles) but the core offering of the retirement home. The five things they say you must look at are:

  1. Health Services
  2. Complaints
  3. The Fine Print
  4. Staff
  5. Security

Nothing about the tennis courts or the disco. :)

Anyway, check out the article, it’s very informative and especially valuable if you’ve been looking at retirement homes.
